Outback Land Rover Heritage Drive 2025 - It's ON!
Outback Land Rover Heritage Drives are an initiative of the Land Rover Club of the ACT. They provide an opportunity for Series Land Rover owners and their friends to enjoy an outback adventure while supporting regional and remote communities. We do this by using their services and raising funds for outback charities.
There have been six Drives so far. In 2010 we explored the NSW Corner Country. In 2012 we traversed the torrid Flinders Ranges and swam up the Birdsville Track. The third Drive in June 2014 featured the fertile plains, iconic opal lands and hot springs of Central West and Northern New South Wales. OLRHD2016 saw us exploring the catchment area of one of Australia's most iconic rivers - Cooper Creek. And 2018’s Back of Beyond Tour started out from Rose Isle Station on the Darling River and combined all the elements of the previous drives in a similar but more relaxed manner as we explored the North West of NSW - west of the Darling to Menindee and the SA border and northwards to Tibooburra before concluding at Cobar. The OLRHD2020 Opals & Dust Drive from Eugowra to Armatree was a COVID Casualty and was re-scheduled and successfully run in 2022.
The 2025 Drive - yet to be named - will kick off somewhere in Southern NSW on Monday 26th May 2025 and finish about 2,200 km later somewhere further to the north on Friday 6th June 2025.
Charities supported to date include the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Fred Hollows Foundation, the Tibooburra Health Service, Frontier Services, Mungindi Pony Club, Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW (Collarenebri and White Cliffs branches), Clontarf Foundation (Coonamble), the Carinda P&C, and the Eulo Public School.
We would love to share this special part of Australia with you - so please check out the details of the drive and register your interest.
